Ear Piercing Round 2

Out of now where the last couple weeks Raygan has been asking to get her ears pierced. We were shocked from the second it flew out of her mouth , I thought she'd steer away from this experience after her first attempt.

We planned to meet at the mall at 5 on my nieces birthday, poor Cameron ended getting what I got and had to miss. He tried to ask Raygan if we could do it another day (yeah right dad!) but girlfriend had massive plans with her 'bestie' ( another thing they came up with on their own!)

We arrived first and checked three different piercing places to see if there were two workers to do them at the same time, what do you know-not on a Monday evening. We explained to the girls they would do them separately and they could careless.

They picked out their earrings and surprisingly they chose different studs. My niece chose pink flowers while raygan opted for the pink jewel as she calls it. My niece went first and the earring got stick in the gun on the first ear-oh.my.god. Literally it was ridiculous, the lady panicked and tugged on her ear, all the while she was shaking and remaining incredibly tough. The next ear went fine, and then it was raygans turn.

I was about an inch away from having an anxiety attack and my sister in law actually stated that to everyone else! My sweet girl sat in that chair, shy, yet confident and owned it.

Boom. One ear down and her eyes filled with tears, but none falling. She was definitely more scared for the second one and had a stiff hand! As soon as the lady was done she leaped into my arms and squeezed me as if she was attempting to take the pain away, then that was that.

She acted 'cool' and said it didn't hurt that bad. As we were paying the bill these two newly pierced girls were wondering Claire's looking for their next pair of earrings, and suddenly they grew up like 10 years right before us.

Remy has absolutely no interest in having hers done and doesn't hesitate on saying no if you ask her. She had such a great experience to look at, I'm not so sure why she's not into it, especially for her love of all things 'sissy'. We grabbed ice cream (duh) and went home to show daddy. She ran into the house saying "look at my ears daddy!!" And he honestly could not believe she did it, he did not think she would go through with it one bit.

I'm so proud of her, and so was she! She woke me up at 4am the next morning to pee, and clean her ears! I'm So proud of how well she's taking care of them, actually a little excessive, dabbing the ear solution on her ears roughly 4 times a day!

  1. Following from the blog hop. Would love for you to follow back.

What brave and beautiful little girls. My daughter was 5 when she asked to get her ears pierced. All the "girls" in the family went - aunts and grandma. But she cried so badly. She didn't want the lolly afterwards - she just wanted to ride the escalator!

  9. Oh, I remember when I got my ear's pierced for the first time, I was probably around her age and it was before all those small shops in the malls were around. Walmart is where my mom took me. . and my screams were echoed through the whole store. She is much braver than I was!!
