Sweet Treat Swap

A couple weeks ago I signed up for a "sweet treat" mail swap with the one and only
Natalie Blair. It was my first little swap and It was so fun getting to know her!
Her name is Sarah and you can find her over here . Shes super nice and defintely nailed it on her package.

I love Gummy Bears.
They could possibly be my most favorite thing ever.
And this was AFTER the girls and devoured a TON of them.
We opened them up on the way to Target and couldn't help ourselves!

Oh and girlfriend knows the way to my heart with a pumpkin spice candle.
I love pumpkin anything. Smell, taste, EVERYTHING!

Make sure you go check out her blog shes totally cool :)

Update, Randomosity & Mini Bucket List

Saturday night we had our annual pumpkin carving party and this year it was accompanied with homemade chili and cornbread, a baked potato bar and some pretty killer deserts!
The kids did their fair share of playing, running and screaming! Quite a bit of screaming.
We spent the entire evening at their house and it was so fun!!

Cameron was far to interested in the World Series. Although I tried to cut him some slack because he is a Giants can after all.

Note: Him looking at the game...

And because of that I carved the damn pumpkin. He's carved every single pumpkin "we've" ever done
together.  I'm not a pumpkin carved but I friggin did it. We bought the kits with all of those fancy
pictures... yeah umm, I took one look at those things and decided I'd pass!

Baby due any day!
Best thing ever.

delish.
The other candles just wernet working, and we left our little battery operated ones at home!

Raygan even drew her own face that we'll carve out tomorrow. (It was running late last night)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a completely random note. I'm currently laying with Raygan and Remy watching Snow White. Every single time the witch comes on the say "skip" like a million times. In which I'm expected to fast forward until the witch scene is over with. I oblige. Does anyone else do that? I gotta keep on my toes.

On another random note. Cameron was cordially invited to the Bed Bath and Beyond friends and family shopping event taking place tomorrow. Haha. A bunch of his dude friends are going. Isn't that funny? Anyways he wasn't into it and I cut a deal with him and now he's in search for some new pots and pans! And possibly a new griddal -clap clap.

I skipped my mini bucket list last week
1. New recipe.
2. Organize kitchen. Get rid of unused things.
3. Attempt bookworm (a cozy bookstore) again and see if the girls will be more enthused.
4. Roxys diner. A 70's style burger and ice cream parlor Ive always wanted to try.
5. Find family picture outfits!!!
6. Movie night.
7. Make Christmas string light craft.
8. Purchase frame for Mr. Darcy quote.
9. Re-decorate book shelf in Raygans room
10. Re-decorate shelf in Remys room

Breaking All the Rules

I've boycotted all of the Twilight series, the Harry Potter series and I cant bring myself to try a Hunger Games.
I read a ton. All different kinds of books and I'm surprisingly open minded.
I just don't go for popularity. (Or vampires for that matter.)
Never in my life did I ever think I would start the 50 Shades phenomenon.

Welp. I did.
My sweet sister in law challenged me to read them.
I read them quick and to my surprise I liked the series.
I mean it wasn't the best series Ive ever read but I liked them.
That simple.

Well here's whats comes next.
Never in my life did I think I would read a book electronically.
I'm a pen and paper gal.
I write my lists on paper, not my fancy iPhone.

Again, my sweet sister in law told me how much she loved reading off her tablet.
I went for it.
OH MY GOD!!
Its so much easier.
I don't have to magically make my thumbs fatter just to hold the book open.
What have I been missing?
Sweet comfortable luxury that doesn't require a light...that's what I've been missing.

I lay with my girls as they fall asleep, we chat, we cuddle and then we turn on one of their shows and thats when I read.
With NO light.
I love it.
Goodness I love it.

Are you still kicking it old school? Or are you hip with the times and go electronically?

Fridays Letters

I've managed to get a lot done this week. I had our bags unpacked, washed  and clothes put away the night we came home from my sisters...that never ever  happens. It usually takes me a couple days to even get motivated. I am beyond caught up with laundry.
I managed to even wash car seat covers! Woot woot!
I've gone through the girls books to take to a book store that gives us "credit"
I have a HUGE bag to take to goodwill.
I've deep cleaned our bathroom and washed out white shower curtain.
(I still don't know why I chose white)
We even  did some room re arranging.
And now my letters.
 ---------------------------------------------------
Dear Cameron: Now that it stays dark much longer I think that I may have won that argument on getting a new lamp for our living room. Our poor Raygan said "I cant see mom" while doing her puzzles. I think that's enough.

Dear New Owl Coffee Cup: I love you.

Dear Diet Pepsi: I caved. Cameron brought you home on his way home from work. Your bubbly goodness got me, and I cant even handle it. I resisted you for 5 days. damnit.

Dear Mid Day Baths: You are oh so sweet. Popsicles and all.

Dear Holiday Pancake Molds: I'm so ready to bust you out! Perhaps tomorrow?

Boys vs. Girls: Weekend Update

My sister and I.

This passed weekend we went on a road trip. We went to my sisters house for yet another pumpkin patch and yet another tradition. We've been going to this specific pumpkin patch for 6 years right after my nephew was born. Far before we even thought about pumpkin patches around our house.

We are always greeted with bright blue eyed toe heads. Then after we are greeted the madness begins.  Seriously you guys its crazy and overwhelming and fun all at once. I don't know how the hell she does it! They have not one gentle home in their bodies, unless they are playing with Remy of course the. In that case they are protective and nurturing.

It was intense. Sounds of dirt bike engines rumbling out if their mouth while jumping off every single price of furniture they own is a constant thing. My girls played along with their "camping trips" and "hiking trails" but they were at ease and a little less intense carrying their baby dolls along.

My sister is one tough freaking cookie. She's old school and a rock. Those crazy boys have the best manners and are so dang polite. Just wild.

I swear the second we all got in the car to head home we all sighed. Literally sighed. We were ready for our home and our version of crazy. A little quieter maybe .Don't get me wrong we're loud but its more like dance parties while we are cooking dinner and watching the girls put on a "show" for us in the living room. That's our normal. I'm in the land of girls with sparkles and pink which is very far from the land of dirt bikes and hunting.

I've never realized how different it is to raise girls and boys. My best friend is a mama to a one and a half year old boy and expecting a baby girl any day (squee!)   She confessed to me the other day that she's nervous to have a little girl and I obviously thought she was crazy because she is the best auntie ever to two special little girls. But later on I comprehended it! Like a light bulb in you head went off, umm hello? I never had to prepare myself for that because I had two girls. It is so different!! I never had to mentally prepare myself for a different gender. (Yet) and I would panic! Thinking about it makes me panic. My little man... my besties little one is already destructive! He's 1.5 and has already broke their silverware drawer, oh and did I mention in their brand new house!!! Every time I see him, another lump, another bruise.

I know I've heard a quote somewhere a out mamas to little boys but its just not coming to me...so mamas to little boys  bless your heart!!!!! I'm in for it if I ever get blessed with a little boy!

I love my dad, hes such a goober.

And so is he.

How are your little ones? Are they as crazy as all the boys I'm around? I would love to hear!

Thats what she said....Quote Journal

I'm completely aware that time moves fast after having a child.
Time moves double fast when you have two.
I write to them in private journals and I keep this blog.
I have their baby books...that totally need some updating.
I have an yearly interview binder, and a binder specifically for previous birthday invitations.

I love memories. If you have read my blog at all that's something that is quite obvious.

Well ladies.
Introduce my Quote Journal.

I've been thinking of doing this for awhile...and I missed some fabulous quotes along the way. boo.

I found this journal at T.J. Maxx...which could possibly be my favorite store for home goods, stationary, and of course clothes for my entire family.
(I could be their spokes person I swear.)
Its perfect. I wish they would've had two so I could tuck Remys away for a couple months.
I love that it says "words of wisdom" because Hello....that's totally what this journal is about.
Her wisdom!

The first two entries in her Quote Journal
"I'm not sleeping, I'm just pretending" (eyes already closed)
"I don't like cheese, not yet...maybe when I'm older. When I'm 4"
I know that I will look back on this a lot throughout her little years.

Copycat: Outfit addition

Some days I don't know what the heck I did before pinterest! I like to think that I have good style but lately I've been copy catting some outfits I've pinned on pinterest.
Here goes.

My version!
The picture quality isn't the best...perhaps because my youngest and I had a mini photo shoot at big sisters ballet practice.
(I was desperate to keep her busy, so the photo shoot was a win!)

Thank you pinterest!
Do you copy pinterest outfits?
Or are you a fashionista at its finest?

Honest?

Am I honest on my blog?
Id answer yes, I'm 100% honest. I never want to come across as a fake.
However when I first started this blog I was a little nervous about posting personal stuff and kept it pretty general and still kind of do.
Me and my blog are growing together and I'm ready to get a little more personal.
I try to reflect on the good and happiness because I truly don't want to remember yelling at my fiance because he didn't put the garbage can on the street to have picked up, which leads in me calling the city and paying 7 extra dollars for them to come pick it up on a day not scheduled.
Yeah, I don't want to remember that, but in reality it happens A LOT.

I don't like to complain and that's in real life as well.
I like to just get over it or fix it.

I'm happy most days but you bet your ass I have my off days.
I get cranky, I loose my cool, and I always want things perfect
and my way!
I can act spoiled and ungrateful.
But I am very blessed and honestly happy.
Very happy.

Happiness definitely outweighs my inner bitch.

We all have our perks right?

Are you honest on your blog?

Fridays Letters

Dear 3 Year Old: You are going to have to make a decision. There is no way sweet daddy of yours is going to buy a princess costume, witch costume, a monster costume AND a strawberry shortcake costume.

Dear Almost 2 Year Old: You are getting feistier by the day. Slow down chick. You stick to your guns and have no problem stepping up to the big girls. You are one tough kid.

Dear Road Trip: I'm excited for our destination full of fall festivities and yet another pumpkin patch. We will be greeted by crazy boys and an even crazier sister of mine. Cant wait.

Dear Disney On Ice: You know what your doing, you guys do.not.mess.around. I was thoroughly impressed with the production.

Dear Thumb: I don't know why ever single time I paint my nails, which is quite often.... something happens in the drying stage. This time you happened to be the victim, I'm sorry that I haven't got the time to fix you up.

Dear Harvey Prince: I received your perfume in my birchbox this month, and I'm totally OBSESSED! Nothing has made me swoon like the smell of that sweet lemon, happiness. I'm totally ordering you. I need the full size version in my life.

Wordless Wednesday

Raygan and me niece. Ballet class Besties.

Confused Much?

Hey hey hey!
If you cant tell this little blog got a new name and make over.
I'm so excited! I have been wanting to change the name for quiet sometime along with the look. The ever popular Natalie Blair took over my blog for one morning and BAM!
She did it fast and I'm really excited about it!

I started blogging about one year ago and at that time I didn't know what the hell I was doing or where I wanted this little blog to go. I was eager to get a blog design and get a name so I used whatever popped into my head at the time. Apparently How Sweet It Is was what popped and I ran with it. It was a good run but now my little blog is growing (a bit) and I want a blog name that is more personable to me and that will also help with less confusion.
There a numerous blog names out there with my previous name and I'm hoping there isn't any with my new one!

I've always been aware that the spelling of my name is rather odd. My dad wrote it on the birth certificate while my mom was sleeping... needless to say it's still an ongoing argument between them but after all these years of teachers embarrassing butchering my name and getting mad because they never sold decorative pens or fake license plates with the correct spelling I have learned to embrace it.
That's right my friends. 23 years later Im over it.

P.S. If you arent alreadry follwoing  her shes freaking hilarious and super nice!

What We've Been Up To Photo Dump

This rocked this last week. My sweet niece came to visit us, she recently moved to Portland with her mama and shes misses us. We miss her to say the least.
We kept her busy and squeezing a babyshower in this weekend too!
Im photo dumping a ton to show you what we have been up to.
A group of friends at the shower// Me and my bestie
All my girls!
My sweet niece//mirror picture!
The normal//My Big Girl.

These hats are so close to true. My little witch and devil.
(p.s. Raygan has a fierce pose. Hip popping and all.)

Don't let this face fool you!

The Little Things

I love the simplicity of this. I love the meaning of the words and how true they stand.
The littlest things in life leave the deepest foot print in out hearts.
I never knew what those words meant until I  became a mama. They have taught me more in 3 short years then I have learned in my entire 23 years of living.
I never paid attention to air planes, or random dogs beforehand and now I love those moments and take the time to take them in. I love little giggles, and a new nail polish color. I mean, what's Ice cream without the sprinkles? Nothing, that's right. Sprinkles totally make the ice cream, I'm not saying that the ice cream wouldn't be good without them just not fabulous. I'm looking for a little bit of fabulous in life. I've always been a "look at the glass half full" type of person. I want to create memories that stick. I want to celebrate with friends and make crafts with my girls.

I like to keep us busy with holiday parties and traditions, or play dates with friends, but in between some one the crazieness, some days it's so so nice to kick back. To lay around and watch Disney movies and eat way to many pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. (Holy delish) because that my friends is the best way to spend a lazy day, after the craziness ends and before some more holiday festivities begin.

My girls have taught me how to slow down and at that very same time they are the reason why we are constantly on the move. I never went to 3 (4 if you count my parents) pumpkin patches before and now our porch looks like a patch of its own.

Two Easiest Wreaths Known To Mankind

A couple people asked if I could share my wreaths that I listed in my mini bucket list a little bit ago and I'm happy to say I'm FINALLY posting it.
I purchased a foam wreath at Michael because Hobby Lobbys just did not compare. Usually I favor Hobby Lobby because HELLOO if its not 50% off this week, it will be next.
But the foam they had there was awful.

First I wrapped the burlap around the foam because the white would show through otherwise. If you have never cut burlap before you should look here for good instructions.

Next I cut them into pretty unequal strips and tied them around with a knot. Sounds fascinating right? Oh and spray painted (my soon to be monogram) and attached with hot glue. WOOT WOOT.

Next one was even more easy. I purchased 2 boas from Hobby Lobby, I like theirs because they had the sparkles...even though it was not 50% off. But hey. Well 2 was not enough for how full I wanted it so I got one more and BAM! so 3 total.

All you need to do is wrap those pretty boas around and attached with hot glue, or your glue of choice.

We Love Fall.

The girls enjoyed another fall activity! For the first year, after years of being invited to Cameron's moms friends we finally we able to go! They live out int he country and have a little pumpkin patch! They even have a hay ride for the kiddos....oh and adults too of course!
How cool is that!
It was so so much fun, and he even let us stop to pick a couple of the neighbors apples.
And that my friends was what Raygan was more interested in the rest of the night...was eating her apple.
And another.
Im so glad we were able to fit this one in our schedule this year.
