So Call Me A Chicken

Im a young mama! I've said it before that I don't communicate or keep in touch with anyone that I went to high school with. It's not a bad thing. Im just lacking in the area of mama friends!

Well I had a chance today to re kindle an old friendship {I'm talking middle school here people! She moved away and that was that!} I ran into her in the target toddler girl clothes {duh} we talked for awhile and were surprised to learn that we both had little girls! I snuck out of the house when Raygan was sleeping so when I mentioned I had an "older" kid she was even more shocked!

In my head was thinking score! I found a mama that I can hang with not to mention my girls! Her daughters age was smack dab in the middle of mine. I was trying to collect a big bag of courage and ask for her number so we could plan a play date....ya know for the girls and all :) Then we both said how good it was to run into each other and BAM just like that my soon to be mama friend was gone! Gone gone gone!

I'm such a chicken!! How did that happen? I was literally planning our play dates in my head and I never even got her phone number!

Has anything like this ever happened to anyone? Or are you guys way way cooler then myself and have loads of mama friends :)

Ps. My computer is still broken so bare with me..if you'd like to follow me on instagram my name is itstoosweet

Why Hello There Sparkles

We got a fish. Yes we did. I was excited for the whole "hunt for a fish" thing. I new both girls would be so into it. We were at the pet store for a good while checking out fish, kitties, and what not. It was a lot of fun. We got a little carried away, I thought for a second there that we were going to walk out of the pet store with and entire aquarium. Thankfully I'm happy to say we returned safely home with one goldfish.
Remys hand is totally in there.

Trying out our dogs new bed....I think they like it
Proud new owner of a goldfish.
Named Sparkles. Yes, in true Raygan fashion she named her Sparkles. How do we know its a "her" you ask? Oh, because Raygan told us so.

Well days later, {literally only days} me and the girls set off for some errans, came back took a look at Sparkles and girlfriend was not moving at all. Ohmygod. I text the Mr. and it looked something like this.

Me: Do fish sleep?
Me: I dont think Sparkles made it.
Me: Yeah, Sparkles is dead dead dead.
Him: Do fish sleep? lol are you kidding?

Just then, my parents showed up and the girls were sleeping. We did the whole replacing the goldfish trick. I have to admit, I panic until my parents walked in, I couldn't just send Cameron to go get a fish! I was on my own! Thank God she was asleep when my mom came back with a look a like Sparkels in a bag.

Little Bits of Happiness

Here are my Little Bits of Happiness this week. They were all taken on my phone. This week was a good week, despite the fact that my man left me home with the wolves {my sweet girls} to fend for myself. We have kept real busy and have enjoyed our weather.

A glimpse of our weekend

I love sidewalk chalk. I'm so excited that its been nice enough to play outside with it. I even get in on the action. I swear that's how Raygan learned her shapes last summer. The weather was amazing yesterday! We spent the whole day outside, we took a couple walks, went to the park, and they played with chalk while I worked in the yard. It was a happy day :)
Later that evening we set out to get some flowers for our pots in our front yard. I'm excited for the Mr. to see our yard when he gets back, literally a transformation!
I cant get over this picture she looks so big!

We live in a cult a sac...no worries!

We stopped with the chalk to eat a little snack, we will probably be eating many meals out here because these girls eat happily without a fight!

And she looks so big here too!! eek

Our tree is starting to bloom, I just thought it was pretty.
There is a glimpse of our weekend! I hope everyone else had a great one as well.

Whats cookin'. Oven chicken tenders

Hey there! My girls love love love chicken nuggets. Its the only meat I can get down my picky eaters mouth. I decided to make ones from home instead store bought in our quest to a healthier lifestyle. Still probably not the healthiest but at least not stuffed with preservatives right?

So here goes.
Oven-Fried Chicken Tenders
 Ingredients:
3/4 cup oil (your choice)
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg beaten
1 cup all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 lb chicken breast cut into tenders
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Place roasting pan in oven, add oil. Preheat to 425 degrees
2. Whisk buttermilk and egg until well blended. Combine flour, and seasoning into shallow bowl. Dip chicken in flour mix, then buttermilk, then again into flour mixture. Place on a plate in a single layer. (if it seems moist, put into flour mixture once more)
3. Place chicken in roasting pan in oven, bake 8 minutes on each side. (the recipe said 6, but I like my chicken well cooked so I did 6)

Thanks :)

A Girls Love

My main squeeze just set out for a little mini vacation visiting his brother before he starts his new job. I'm alone with the girls this for a little bit. This week is when I will appreciate him the most because he isn't here to help with me with all of this little things that I usually don't even notice while hes here. He left early this morning before the girls were awake, I'm thankful for that because it would've been hard. They are so used to him being around so much. I'm lucky. And sometimes I take it for granted. I need to be more appreciative and less nagging. Its something that I'm constantly working on. I don't want to be that wife.

Hes such an amazing dad and our girls adore him. Hes crazy and fun. Raygans a daddy's girl to the fullest. Always has been, and Remy is making her way to that side. I love watching it and it makes me love them all so much more. Something is truly different about a daddy and his girl{s}.

Ever since Raygan was very very little before she could talk, after we would dress her up all pretty for the day, I started saying "go show daddy" and that transformed into something big. Before she could talk she would go show daddy her clothes and stand there in front of him arching her back showing off her pretty outfit, while daddy would always respond with a "oh my gosh, you look beautiful"  and now she has to and I mean has to show him every time she gets dressed. Shes been guilty of going in our room when hes sleeping in and whispering "look at me daddy." He rolls over and with his most enthusiastic {very tired} voice says "oh my gosh Raygan you look pretty"

It has transformed like I said to something big. Now Remy does it, walks right up to daddy and shows him her pretty outfit and if its her shoes she wants to show off, she points her toes for daddy to see. It melts my heart and his for that matter. Its something they all share. His girls. Sometimes the girls try to one up each other and its hilarious. Remy will go show daddy, then Raygan will say "look at me," and back and forth and back and forth. I don't know how it eventually stops actually but I love it and its something they all share that he will never forget.

Hands down my favorite picture of them ever.

(old pictures, taking last June, but I still love them, time to schedule more family pics now that Remy's big!)
I will always treasure this and I know there will be a day when they want to run out of the house because he will not be pleased with their attire. But for now we are soaking it in. I'm loving their relationships they are building with him, and I'm incredibly lucky to have guy that gets to and wants to be around his girls {and family} a lot.

Not only do I love the bond building between them, I think its very important for girls to feel pretty and loved. Especially in the society we live in today. I grew up very self conscious and I do not want that for my girls. I want to reflect nothing but positive things their way. I try not to complain about my body image, like my weight or my stretch marks when they are around because Raygan already will know what I'm talking about and I never want her to be worried about that stuff {crap} They are beautiful and we remind them both of that numerous times a day.

My date to Cinderella

Me and my big girl went to see a play put on by out local theater. Cinderella. She has never seen the actual movie because I cant find the dang movie on dvd. I've looked a lot of places and they arent the original. So if you know where it is help a sister out please! It was kind of a date. We were accompanied by grandma and grandpa and her cousin. So basically we just ditched the Mr. and Remy.

We had our own little photoshoot before grandpa picked us up. I went to get my Canon and what do you know.... the battery was dead. I havent been useing it as much lately because of my new Iphone. {love it} so its been neglected. So we used my phone and my good ol' point and shoot. She was happy as a clam. She's seriously the.best.kid.ever. when me and her get our alone time.

He famous pose//and some mama love

Our

She skipped her nap and fell asleep in grandmas arms in the last scene. She almost made it!

Daddy Sick = My date to the park

So the other night, I woke up to Remy choking in her crib. Turns out girlfriend was throwing up. Everywhere. I'm a hard sleeper and usually the Mr. flaps his arm on me...meaning "hey a kid is screaming" and I get up stumble to one of their rooms and see whats up. Well this time Remy had thrown up everywhere. I cleaned her up, and brought her into bed with us. (she was literally choking, scary thought, alone in her crib) A couple hours later Im cuddling with my girl and all of a sudden girlfriend throws up on my face. On.my.face. I grabbed her and held her on my chest, with my eyes still closed. I wouldn't open them until I whipped off the liquid from my face. Thank goodness it was liquid and not chunky. I always the one that gets thrown up on. Like nearly every time. I thought it was possibly from her shots that she had got the night before because that was accompanied by diarrhea.

Well turns out, girlfriend got everyone sick. Now the Mr. is sick. Which not only means I need to wait on him and foot. I need to take out the garbage. I despise taking out the garbage. I mean I do {pretty much} everything else around here so that's his main job. But that also means I got a park date with the girls all to myself yesterday in hopes that he could get a nap in.
The many faces of Raygan

We ventured to a totally new park that is still in our neighborhood. We have three that are in walking distance!
Oh big sisters. Shes such a boss.

Now Raygans sick today...Its never ending I tell ya.

Babysitting Troubles

Okay, so I have mentioned before that I babysit one of my good friends little boys. It used to be two days a week. Which honestly it was starting to take a tole on me. I felt bad for not being able to have all of my attention on the girls and the fact that we had to be in a rush that entire morning to be home in time for his arrival. I like to just go through the day with our own pace. It moved to one day a week now for the last couple weeks and its been so nice. Except the fact that Raygan and him do.not. get along.

I'm the first one to say that my big girl is no angel. Shes a sweet little girl, but she definitely has her moments. Their fighting got so bad one day that me and the Mr. had to completely separate them. Raygan downstairs with daddy and the little boy upstairs with me. Yesterday Raygan was watching her favorite {Tangled} and the little boy comes right up to her and bites her. I mean seriously bites her. It nearly drew blood and I'm totally not exaggerating. I watched the entire thing. I'm a fair mama and discipline my kids when they are in the wrong, I want to raise my kids to be happy sweet little girls that have big hearts. But that time she did nothing. She was minding her own business and BAM! She was hysterical. I put the little man in time out and snuggled with my girl until she felt better.

I don't know what I should do because my friend really needs the help and has trouble finding babysitters because its crappy hours. {2pm-9 or 10 sometimes} I honestly don't think that's its fair for either or them to continue watching him. I need your help!

What would you guys do? I've told his mama about the fighting and the biting and pinching that comes from that little man. So whats next??
